Sunday Catch Up #10

Happy Sunday! I hope you're all having a lovely weekend, mine has so far been spent procrastinating and sitting in bed, so hopefully today will be very productive. I've got an essay to write for a programme I do at uni, and I've left it to basically the last minute and now Im slightly freaking out, a great way to start third year!

Tomorrow is the first day of September, I can't believe how quick this summer has gone, I feel like I haven't really done anything but I guess thats always the way with summers, they're never as great as you imagine them to be. I always feel like September is the start of a new year, I guess because academically it is. Im going into third year, and i'll be moving back up to Preston in just over a week to start my final year and Im slightly crapping it.

To go along with a new year I'm making a few minor changes on my blog, mostly I'm going to be posting a little bit less. At the moment I aim to post on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. However that's changing and Im going to be posting on less days, this is just so I don't get overwhelmed and I can keep up a bit easier. With it being my final year at uni I've got to work really hard and not get distracted with blogging, Im going to be planning my time better and making sure I put enough time into both uni and blogging.

My new posting schedule is going to be;

Monday: Travel or Lifestyle Posts
Wednesday: Healthy Living, Fashion, or Beauty Posts
Friday: Student Life or Other Posts
Sunday: Catch Up or Life Update Posts

Just thought I'd let you guys know the new plan so you know when to expect posts, there may occasionally be posts on other days if I feel like it, or I might miss a day or not stick to the right day for a certain topic. I don't want to be too strict on myself for what I have to post, but I find it's always best to have a structure to follow so you can plan and organise.

Let me know your thoughts on this, I'd also be interested to know how often you post? Do you have a schedule you always follow? Do you post about certain topics on certain days or just whatever you want when you want? Also let me know what are your favourite things to read on this blog? I cover lots of topics but I quite like that as I feel it's true to me and the things I enjoy.

  1. The only days I really "stick" to the subject are Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays but the other days I write about whatever I want, usually lifestyle posts! I think havin a schedule really helps! It makes it a lot easier to come up with post ideas :)

    1. I think thats a great way to be, have days you always write and then some you do what you want on. Thats why I decided different days could be 2 different things, so if I didn't want to write about beauty I could do fashion or healthy living etc. I think a schedule also means you're not overloading your blog with one genre all at once.

    1. Thanks :) Im going to give this schedule a go and see how I cope with uni and blogging and if it's too much I'll cut down to less, this is a hobby and my degree is very important :)

  3. I always find it so interesting seeing how people organise their blogs! I don't have a schedule at all and just write as and when, but I do try and publish posts in a varied order so if I write a few beauty posts in a row I'll keep some behind and spread them amongst others to keep a bit of a balance. My favourite blogs are usually ones that cover a lot of topics so your schedule looks great!

    1. Im so nosey and love seeing people's schedules or organisational things. I think without a schedule I wouldn't post very often, I need a bit of structure to remind me of what needs to go up when. Thats a good idea keeping things varied.

  4. Sounds like a great plan! I look forward to reading all the posts:) I don't actually have a schedule, I want to make one but I'm not quite sure what my blog themes are yet. LIke obviously lifestyle in general but I need to think of what my sub categories would be. So at the moment I just tend to post whatever I feel like writing and post Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays:) I don't know how I'll keep that up once I start uni though! My time management is terrible :s

    1. Thanks :D I'd say keep posting what you want until you start to realise what you pst about regularly, say you posted about beauty at least once a week you could devote monday to beauty and then give other days to whatever you wanted. Or just keep posting what you want when you want.
I struggle to write when Im busy so i try and devote time to writing and scheduling because then I can kind of relax a bit knowing I've got things to go up, and also having a schedule means I know what sort of post I need to write for when. :)

  5. It's good to have a plan but don't get yourself down if you're over whelmed with other things. Good luck in your third year, I start my first day tomorrow and I'm crapping it too!! xxx

    1. Yeah Im not going to force myself to stick to it, life comes first, blogging second. And thank you, I'm SO nervous about it! Can't believe it's my last year. Good luck with your first day tomorrow, it will be fine! and you'll have a great time I'm sure.

  6. Great idea to cut down on posts so it doesn't take over your life. I've cut down my posts to manage my life and about to go into my dissertation I'm pretty scared. I do monday, wednesday, friday, sunday and I try to do my beauty towards the end of the week and opinion posts and things on Wednesday when I get the time. Good luck and you certainly won't be losing a follower in me!

  8. I just blog about whatever I want whenever I want, I felt having a schedule made me bored and I was too strict on myself. I love your student posts at the minute :-) Rebeka x

    1. I think that really works well for some people, but for me I need the motivation and structure of having a schedule, although with some flexibility as well.
