Healthy Living #12 Weight Loss Goals

If you've been reading this blog for a while you'll probably know that I've been 'trying' to loose weight, something I've been trying to do for most of my life. I first spoke about it in my post about my weight loss journey so far. I then talked about it again in my I Should Be Skinny By Now post where I decided to finally get my butt into gear and loose some weight. Well that was almost 3 months ago and I am not any slimmer, in fact I might have gone the opposite way!

Loosing weight is not easy for me, but I'm so annoyed at myself for not working harder to achieve my goals. I'm heading back to uni soon for my final year and I really want to loose weight and feel better and be healthier, so Im once again going to attempt another push at weight loss! To keep myself in track Im setting some goals which I can hopefully reach.

I've gained almost a stone since my lowest weight last christmas, so by this christmas I need to be back at my lowest weight or even lower. I've found the best way for me to loose weight is cutting out/down on sugar, which I've spoken about here and here. To kick start this Im taking part in Sugar Free September to hopefully motivate and encourage me to stick to a sugar free diet.

I've got 4 months until 2015 and I want to start the new year feeling and looking the best I can possibly be. I'm setting some goals that are hopefully achievable, If I don't reach them I won't be too disappointed as long as I get close.

My Goals
  • Reach my goal weight
  • Loose 25lbs
  • Be a size 10
  • Run 10k comfortably
  • Complete the 30 day shred
  • Exercise 4 times a week
  • Eat less sugary foods
  • Don't use emotions to justify eating
  • Love my body

I'm hoping I can finally managed to loose some weight. The most important thing is to be happy and healthy, but I want to be happy, healthy and slimmer, so I'm going to try for all three.

If anyone else is on a weight loss journey, has goals they want to complete or has already completed their journey I'd love to hear about it. Also any advice, tips or encouragement is welcomed. Also I'd love to read any posts you have about weight loss or anything related to it.

  1. Ahh good luck with this! Hopefully you stick to it! I've just made some low calorie, low sugar brownies so if you fancy a treat you can check my blog out later for the recipe! It's so hard cutting down sugar intake though! I've tried the 30 Day Shred a few times and it was more the repetitiveness that got to me, I think I managed a week then stopped - so don't be like me! Keep it up! I've been going to the gym properly since November time, and it's really given me the push to get healthy! I usually just make up my own workouts, though I've been using a Youtube channel called Fitness Blender since I've been back from uni, which is amazing, I'd seriously recommend it for home workouts!

I wish you luck and if you ever need encouragement I'll always be on hand to give it to you! :)

    1. Thank you! I hope I stick to it too! Ooh those brownies sound amazing, will deffo be checking them out. Cutting down on sugar is so difficult, I try not to be too hard on myself in the first couple of weeks just so I don't end up binging on a million chocolate bars, but I know its the best way for me to loose weight. I've started the 30 day shred probably about 10 times now. I KEEP quitting before I get to the final level so Im determined to complete it this time, Im not strict on needing to do it every day for 30 days, more just needing to do it regularly and 30 times. I've been running a lot more recently in training for my 10k, and although I don't always stick to it I've definitely improved. Im looking at trying some youtube workouts when I finish my training for my run, and also wanna get back into using the gym.

Thanks again, I'll probably be seeking encouragement on twitter a lot so I'll give you a tweet haha!

  2. Good luck with your weight loss journey :) I know what you mean,I put on weight in my final semester at uni because I went from cooking healthy meals and gym, to sitting in the library eating chocolate to cheer me up haha! And since then I've been 'trying' to lose weight, but actually I was restricting and then binging and getting nowhere! So I've started focusing on eating healthily, and only when I'm hungry, as well as the gym and I feel so much better and in control :)

    1. Thank you! I put back on almost a stone over deadlines and summer, I've been so bad! Need to get back into being healthy. I go through stages of being really restrictive and binging and it being a total failure so I try and be as healthy and realistic as possible. It's not going to happen over night, Im going to slip up and make slightly bad decisions but thats life just got to keep moving forward!

  5. What a lovely goal's list - and please remember that you don't have to be super thin to love your body! But I hear ya when it comes to need some motivation to lose weight. I'm really struggling about the moment and have put about 6 pounds on in the last few weeks from over eating, which confused me because I have been running 20k a week and doing a ton of weights :( Has almost put me off exercising!

Let me know how you're getting on!

    1. Don't worry I know my body is never going to super thin, just a little bit less cuddly would be nice, and most importantly I want to be healthy and in the healthy BMI range for my height which Im currently not (although BMI is kind of stupid). That does suck, maybe it's what you've been eating? or maybe it's muscle gain? I need goals to keep me motivated and something to work towards. Im hoping I can stick to them!
